Frequently Asked Questions

Tajweed is the set of rules that govern the correct pronunciation and recitation of the Quran. Reciting with Tajweed preserves the exact wording as revealed to the Prophet ﷺ and fulfills the Quranic command in Surah Al-Muzzammil: "Recite the Quran with measured recitation."

You should be able to read basic Arabic (at least Noorani Qaida level) before starting Tajweed. If you cannot read yet, we recommend starting with our Noorani Qaida course first.

Basic Tajweed rules can be learned in 6–12 months. Mastering Tajweed while reciting the full Quran is an ongoing journey — most students continue Tajweed practice throughout their Quran reading.
